We disembarked the Volendam in the morning and sped off to the airport to catch a plane to Toronto! alas our motel was WWAAAYYY out of town so it took about 3 hours to get there from the airport.. but oh well! so we slept our anger away to awake in the morning fresh and bright.. except for jiku who went out clubbing during the night and out with a canadian barn owl.. oh jiku you party owl..
The next morning I awoke to jiku nodding off to sleep.. poor little thing partied a bit hard and needed me to sing her to sleep.. Ciara then stayed to make sure she was ok and I went into town to pick up the hire car.. oh dear.. 2 buses and a subway later i got into town to find out they were still washing the car! 2 hours! 2 hours to wash a car with a broom.. i swear i was going to grab the broom and try and will it to fly like in harry potter..
So 2 hours post then with Ciara in the car and caffinated we arrived at Niagra falls! it was so awesome! the little town was just like a mini Las Vegas with neon lights and wierd haunted houses and a big casino! kinda funny but obviously they know how to do tourism..
We went down to see the falls and they were just STUNNING! exactly what you'd hope them to be.. We walked around for a while and took pictures and then headed behind the falls as part of a tour ticket we bought.. there are underground tunnels which let you view the falls from behind the curtain of water.. From there we went to a 4d movie of the creation of the falls where we got rained on and snowed on and shaken to pieces! As the sun came down and it got closer to the time we waited until 8:30 to see the falls light up.. it was just amazing and well worth waiting for.. They lit them up with multicoloured lights.. I dunno but I think the Canadian viewing side is much more beautiful than the US side.. ohh controversy and strong opinions!!
The next day we went up the CN tower and lay on the glass floors looking down! talk about an adrenalin rush.. it's so wierd.. although the glass is 5x stronger than is required for the weight limit, your brain takes a little while to get used to stepping on to the glass..
We then left for Dundas Square which was setup for the Toronto Film Festival.. alas if we'd planned ahead we could've seen some of the films but not much time! then! for Ciara & Jiku's enjoyment! SHOE MUSEUM! We saw awesome shoes that went all the way from moss/peat construction through to shoes so high even Lady Gaga wouldn't dare wear them! I think with my legs however I could pull them off!
If the eve couldn´t get any more girly! we then ducked back to the hotel for an all girls hair dying session and to talk about boys and then off to sleep pre an early wake up for NYC! Home of the Harlem Hooded Owl.. flies down in the dead of night and steals your shoes yo!
