Isle of Skye.. more Skye than Isle!

Hooray! the sun was out in full force today! best weather yet nearly our entire trip!

we headed off to Duvegan Castle the oldest/longest inhabited castle in Scotland by the Clan McLeod.. don´t laugh but one of their prize possessions is their Faery (fairy) flag! It was supposedly gifted to them to aid them in battle.. it has been carbon dated pre the crusades and has worked the two times it has been used! go Tinkerbell!

we then continued our Faery adeventure and went to the Faery Glen! Ciara had been here before but I´m glad she took me there as it was the biggest mind warp! picture a perfectly formed eco-system.. mountains perfectly formed.. a loch.. trees.. now throw it all out of proportion so that sheep look gigantic and we look like goliaths in comparison! it was SO WIERD! even Jiku would be a Queen in this land!

We then ducked off to the Qurang a beautiful rock face with stunning views and then to see the old man of Stoer who was actually like the three sisters.. but there was one of him and he looked alot greyer!

We then went into Portree.. a cute little fishing village.. colourful little buildings line the harbour.. alas.. I fed some seagulls chips and Ciara´s lunch had to be ended early for fear of seagull induced death.. Jiku´s feminine whyles couldn´t even keep them off!

We then got back to the hostel just wrecked when our awesome hostel owner decided to tell us about the Faery Pools! So of course we jumped right back in the car at around 6pm and went exploring! So an hour later we were hiking up the Black Cuilins via an intricate stream of pools eroded into the dolomite bedrock (damn dolomites.. i knew they stole my money and kept it somewhere). There was even a perfectly formed Faery bridge inside one of the pools.. oh don´t they just think of everything! inter-pool transportation at it´s best!

Tommorrow we begin a long drive to Edinburgh via Tartan Town! aka Lochcarron Tartan Weavers!
