When Owls Meet Lakes

SPAGHETT!! well here we are again! It's the early hours of the morning in a net cafe that serves coffee that would make an italian think of "MAMMA!" finally! semi-decent coffee.. damn American influence on coffee here!

SSOOO I know you're sitting at your desk or lying snuggled in bed thinking.. "tell me Ciara & Jiku! tell me what's been happening I'm ever so keen to find out!" SO! here goes!

Well we flew like only owls can fly out of our little town of Jasper.. leaving hung over cows, horses and rodeo clowns post their rodeo finale dance.. down the icefields parkway we soared UNTIL! the famous glaciers begun to emerge.. like the golden arches in the distance we grew ever so excited for their frozen goodness. Jiku insisted I used a McDonalds reference as she has a hot cakes with double Caribou meat craving..

From there we got to see the amazing sights of Bow Lake, the Crow's Foot Glacier, Athabasca Glacier & Peto Lake & Lake Louise..

After hiking up a steep German tourist covered hill we were both in awe of Peto Lake.. Almost more so than Lake Louise... It was an amazing amazing blue! Lake Louise was also wonderful but very crowded with tourists!

AHH! 4 mins to go! sorry we get free 30 min internet with delicious coffee purchase so I'll have to make this quick!

BANFF
So! down to Banff we finally came, a little owl, a beautiful dame.. but oh what a shock we did have, when a party town it was and the hostel a party pad!

To put it bluntly I can see the appeal in Banff.. it is a lovely little ski town and has some beautiful gardens and wonderful trails.. to get to see any view up high $40 in a gondala will get you there.. but for us we'd seen more beauty on the ground..

trouble struck at our hostel.. Shall remain nameless! but every night we'd get drunk revellers round 1 then just as we got back to sleep.. drunk revellers round 2 and on top of that a crazy steam train of mystery hooting it's whistle!

So! now we're tired as anything and all we can do is fly! FLY LIKE GAZELLES to Golden!
